Funkshuay is no stranger to Sweet Heat Records. He’s been dropping heaters (singles and EP's) here and there, but now has a full album for us. No fluff, just raw sound and real-rap bars.

Why the shift? According to him, he was sitting on too much music. Honestly, fair. Some people hoard random objects, Funkshuay hoards unreleased bangers. Eventually, something’s gotta give, and in this case, we’re stoked he decided to release with us.

The album itself is a mix of moments, moods, and a whole lot of muse. Influenced by constant creation (and equally constant forgetting), as he says, a perfect balance between making something meaningful and letting it go? That’s not just art, it’s alchemy.

His favorite track? “Good Vibrations.” Hardest to finish? “Dracula.”

When creative blocks hit, Funkshuay doesn’t fight them, he lets them pass. If Funkshuay could pick one dream listener, it’s Mac Miller (rest in peace).

The whole project was built on intuition and not overthinking. His advice to other artists thinking about making the leap on releasing a full album: “Don’t think too hard. Trust your music. If it puts a smile on your face, what else matters?” If it moves your spirit, let it ride.

Funkshuay’s goal with music runs deep. It’s legacy over hype. “Music lives forever. It doesn’t matter where it takes me, as long as the journey was beautiful.” Okay poet. We see you.

When asked what keeps him grounded balancing life and music, Funkshuay explained, “Making music is such a fulfilling achievement on its own. I’d say the key is to keep it fresh, keep learning, and keep mastering your craft. But don’t neglect life. Create space for it. That’s where all the content comes from after all.”

His final word for anyone listening, watching, or maybe just lurking on the timeline waiting for their own spark? “Art is meant to be shared. Don’t be stingy.” Funkshuay’s second full length album is here Friday, June 27. Put it on & let it bump.
